Additional information

A number of published values are available for the flashpoint of 2 -(2 -butoxyethoxy)ethyl acetate. All but one of the values available are closed cup and the single open cup value falls within the range of the c/c measurements. The values available, most of which appear to be measured using a known method (DIN, IP or ASTM), span the range 102 -116C. No single value is from a definitive reliable source but a weight of evidence allows an appropriate value for the flash point to be selected with confidence. This is a good enough approach for classification and labelling purposes and risk characterisation. As a conservative approach, lowest available value from the supporting studies is used to determine the key parameter even though this is identified as a reliability (4) study. It can be concluded with confidence that flammability is not an important property of this substance.
