Description of key information

The substance is readily biodegradable (according to OECD criteria).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

According to Regulation (EC) 1907/2006, Annex IX, Section 9.2.1.3, Column 2, soil simulation testing does not need to be conducted if the substance is readily biodegradable.

Based on an OECD 301D test as cited in the OECD SIDS, 2003 for 3 -aminopropyldimethylamine (CAS 109 -55 -7) the test substance was determined to be readily biodegradable but it failed the 10 -d window. Therefore, data on the ready biodegradability from the structurally similar substance diethylaminopropylamine (CAS 104 -78 -9) were also considered. Diethylaminopropylamine is readily biodegradable in an OECD 301A test and hence, 3 -aminopropyldimethylamine is also considered to be readily biodegradable. Therefore, no soil simulation study will be provided.
