Description of key information

Hydrogen bromide (HBr) gas can react violently when mixed with some chemicals, metals or water, forming a flammable, explosive gas. HBr is a reducing agent, which donates hydrogen. In redox reactions with other inorganic acids, it can form bromine, a strong oxidizing agent.
