Description of key information
The results of the transformation/dissolution tests (IUCLID 5.6.) and of the aquatic toxicity tests documented in this section 6 all consistently demonstrate the very limited solubility of ZnS. For this reason, the long term aquatic toxicity tests on fish is waived (because no significant exposure to zinc ions is anticipated).
The results on aquatic toxicity obtained with soluble or slightly soluble zinc compounds are not considered relevant for ZnS.
