A complex combination of hydrocarbons obtained by distilling cracked steam cracked distillate and/or its fractionation products. It consists of hydrocarbons having carbon number predominantly in the range of C10 to low molecular weight polymers.
The 96 hour LC50/LL50 toxicity to fish for this Category was in the
range of 1.1 - 48 mg/L.
A range of
proprietary studies were available for members of this Category which
reported 96 hour LC50 or LL50 of between 1.0 and 48 mg/L.
Two studies were
available for the stream 64742-90-1 from Brixham Environmental
Laboratory Astrazeneca UK Ltd (2004) and TNO (1989) which respectively
of 32 mg/L and 48 mg/L. A study available from ExxonMobil (2004a, 2004b)
reported LL50 values of 1.1 mg/L stream 68513 -69 -9. BASF (1983) stated
an LL50 of >22 - <32 mg/L for the stream 85117-10-8 and an LL50 of 4.9
mg/L for the same stream (BASF 2008).
