Description of key information

Paraffin wax: 43 to 68°C (typically around 55°C)
Microcrystalline wax: 60 to 95°C.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

The melting/freezing point range for paraffin and hydrocarbon waxes was determined to be 43 to 95°C (CONCAWE, 1999a). The melting/freezing point was determined using the ASTM D127 method.
