There is one study on fish toxicity available for Reaction products resulting from the esterification of Sorbitol with C8-18 (even) and C18unsaturated fatty acids in the ratio 1:1 (EC 931-434-7).

The key study conducted with Reaction products resulting from the esterification of Sorbitol with C8-18 (even) and C18unsaturated fatty acids in the ratio 1:1 (EC 931-434-7) was performed as a limit test, according to OECD Guideline 203 and GLP (Teigeler, 2012). The fish were exposed to the nominal test concentration of 100 mg/L, prepared as water accommodated fractions (WAF). No mortalities were observed at the test concentration, during the 96-hour test period, and a LC50 of > 100 mg/L was reported.

Additionally, a short summary of a 96-hour fish test is available for Reaction products resulting from the esterification of Sorbitol with C8-18 (even) and C18unsaturated fatty acids in the ratio 1:1 (EC 931-434-7). Salmo gairdneri was used as test organism. No mortality was observed at concentrations up to 56 mg/L, but at 100 mg/L all fish were dead. An LC50 of 75 mg/L is reported. Since, the documentation was insufficient to assess the quality of the data, this result was not used in the assessment of fish toxicity of Reaction products resulting from the esterification of Sorbitol with C8-18 (even) and C18unsaturated fatty acids in the ratio 1:1 (EC 931-434-7).
