Description of key information

The Henry´s Law Constant is calculated to be 0.0879 Pa.m3/mol by EUSES 2.1.1.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Henry's law constant (H) (in Pa m³/mol):
0.088
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

The Henry´s Law Constant of benzyl alcohol was experimentally determined using a thermodynamic method. The Henry´s Constant for benzyl alcohol was determined to be < 1.1E-5 (dimensionless) at 25°C (Altschuh et al. 1999). Since no definitive value has been measured in the present publication, the Henry´s Law Constant (HLC) calculated by EUSES 2.1.1 on the basis of the vapour pressure, molecular weight and water solubility was used in the Environmental Risk Assessments. The Henry´s Law Constant is calculated to be 0.0879 Pa.m3/mol.
