Description of key information

According to Annex IX column 2 of REGULATION (EC) No 1907/2006, terrestrial toxicity studies do not need to be conducted if direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely. The substance is not expected to partition into the terrestrial environment according to the CSR which determined almost exclusive partitioning to the aquatic environment under several scenarios. Environmental monitoring data from the Perstorp production facilities did not detect any monomers in any soil and sediment samples. The measured Log Kow of 0.32 and the classification of the substance as readily biodegradable in the aquatic environment, provide further validation that exposure to terrestrial arthropods is not expected.

Key value for chemical safety assessment
