Description of key information

DOK: The substance is not readily biodegradable. However, since the substance has no cationic properties and based on the PC properties of the substance, a low adsorption potential is indicated. Therefore, binding to sewage sludge is unlikely and as a consequence a transfer to the soil compartment is not expected.

Furthermore due to the structural characteristics and the low solubility in water and octanol toxic effects on terrestrial organisms are not expected. This assumption is supported by two guideline studies on theEisenia fetidafollowing OECD guideline 207. The animals were exposed to the category member CAS 7023-61-2, a close structural analogue of CAS 7585-41-3, for 14 days. The test substance was mixed with artificial soil. In the key study a NOEC of >= 1000 mg/kg dry soil and a LC50 of > 1000 mg/kg dry soil was determined. These results are supported by the supporting study reporting a LC50 >1000 mg/kg dw.
