The measured values for the reference substances were:

The flash point was determined with a closed cup tester by an equilibrium method "Small Scale", commonly known as Setaflash where the vapours are deemed to be in temperature equilibrium with the liquid. The study was based on the procedures indicated by the following internationally accepted methods:

- ASTM D 3828 -97: Standard Test Methods for Flash Point by Small Scale Closed Tester.

- EU method Part A, A.9

Two measurements were performed.

The value was considered with a reliability of 2 (reliable with restrictions) because the result is scientifically acceptable but not obtained under GLP and some details were lacking in the report. However the measured flash point is valid for key value and supported by consistent experimental data obtained with (-)-alpha-pinene.
