Description of key information

In contact with water the substance will hydrolyse slowly.

Additional information

Due to the carboxylic ester groups in the molecule, HDDA in principle is susceptible to hydrolysis. However, HYDROWIN Program (v1.67) is estimating half-lifes of the substance at environmentally relevant pH values in the range of 200 days to 5 years [BASF SE 2003]. Therefore, it is concluded that hydrolysis neither is an important process in the fate of HDDA nor had any considerable effect on the stability of the test substance during the aquatic toxicity studies performed with the substance.
