Description of key information

Primary fatty amines have no functional groups associated with oxidising properties. According to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006 Annex VII, 7.13. Oxidising properties, no study is required, since substances contain neither oxygen nor halogen atoms which are covalently bonded to nitrogen or oxygen.
Therefore the study does not need to be performed.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Oxidising properties:
no

Additional information

Primary fatty amines are derived from natural sources (fatty acids). Their functional group (NH2) is linked to an unbranched, even numbered alkylchain within the range of C8-C22. Depending on the source their C-chain distribution is variable. The functional group of primary fatty amines is not associated with oxidising properties. According to Regulation (EC) No. 1907/2006 Annex VII, 7.13 oxidising properties no study is required, since primary fatty amines contain neither oxygen nor halogen atoms which are covalently bonded to nitrogen or oxygen.

Therefore, the study does not need to be performed

Therefore the study does not need to be performed.
