Description of key information

The auto flammability was determined to be 265°C at 1006 hPa by method according to A.15 acc. to GLP (read across to C16-18-(even numbered, saturated and unsaturated)-alkylamines)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Autoflammability / Self-ignition temperature at 101 325 Pa:
265 °C

Additional information

Literature source (safety data sheet) states a self-ignition around 270°C. Original references or methods applied were not stated. Additionally, the study of the auto flammability of C16-18-(even numbered, saturated and unsaturated)-alkylamines is presented. For C16-18-(even numbered, saturated and unsaturated)-alkylamines, the self-ignition temperature was determined to be 265°C at 1006hPa by method according to A.15 acc. to GLP.

Both values of the safety data sheet and the guideline study of a similar substance are within the same order of magnitude. As key parameter and as a worst case the lower value of the more reliable guideline study was used (read across to C16-18-(even numbered, saturated and unsaturated)-alkylamines)
