Description of key information

log Koc= 3.1-4.4 (KOCWIN v2.00)

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

No experimental data investigating the adsorption potential of Fatty acids, C12-C14 (even numbered), methyl esters (CAS No. 308065-15-8) are available. Since the substance is a complex UVCB substance, QSAR calculations covering representative fatty acid components (C12 and C14) were performed with KOCWIN v2.00. The resulting log Koc values range from 3.1-3.8 (C12, MCI and log Kow method respectively) and 3.6-4.4 (C14, MCI and log Kow method)(López Parrón, 2011). These values indicate that Fatty acids, C12-C14 (even numbered), methyl esters is expected to exhibit potential for adsorption to organic soil and sediment particles.
