Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

No lethal or sublethal effects were observed in any test organism at any test concentration. It was inappropriate and in some cases not technically feasible to test above the current highest test concentations of the registered substance.

Analysis of test solutions showed a marked decrease in the concentration of the registered substance in the test solution over the duration of all test periods.

Information provided by the Sponsor indicated that at the pH and concentration used in the ecotoxicity studies the test item was likely to have become unstable. It is considered likely that the addition of the test item to water resulted in the rapid decomposition of the substance to form zirconium hydroxide, together with accompanying release of carbonate and ammonium ions to the solution.

No potential for environmental toxicity to the registered substance was seen in any of the studies and, although no degradation products or levels were identified, in the absence of any environmentally toxic effects in any of the test organisms at any level these degradation products are not considered to be toxic to the environment at the levels of the registered substance tested.
