Description of key information

Read across to thioglycolic acid.
Based on the test results the 96 hour LC50 of thioglycolic acid for Oncorhynchus mykiss was determined to be higher than 100 mg/L based on nominal concentration.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

LC50 for freshwater fish:
100 mg/L

Additional information

Read across to thioglycolic acid.

Acute toxicity to Oncorhynchus mykiss has been investigated through OECD TG 203 and GLP requirements.

Oncorhynchus mykiss were exposed for 96 hours to thioglycolic acid.

Based on the test results the 96 hour LC50 of thioglycolic acid for Oncorhynchus mykiss was determined to be higher than 100 mg/L based on nominal concentration.

The no observed effect concentration (NOEC) was determined to be 100 mg/L and the LOEC was determined to be higher than 100 mg/L, both values also based on nominal concentrations.
