Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The key value for chemical safety assessment is estimated by EPIWIN software KOCWINv2.00 (Chemservice S.A., 2010, revised 2019).

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Koc at 20 °C:
1.224

Additional information

No experimental data are available. Concerning REACH regulation, Annex VIII, section 9.3.1, column 2, no study needs to be conducted if the substance can be expected to have a low potential for adsorption (e.g. the substance has a low octanol water partition coefficient). Since 2 -dimethylaminoethanol possesses a logPow of -0.55, this endpoint can be waived. In addition, the substance is readily biodegradable.

For completeness, the organic - normalized sorption coefficient for soil was estimated by using EPIWIN (software KOCWINv2.00). Two different methods are applied by the program, MCI Estimation Method and LogKow based estimation Method (traditional method), whereby the MCI method is taken more seriously into account. The result of the MCI Estimation method was a Koc of 1.224, whereby the traditional based method shows a value for Koc of 0.848 (Chemservice S.A., 2010, revised 2019).
