Endpoint:
solubility in organic solvents / fat solubility
Type of information:
experimental study
Adequacy of study:
key study
Reliability:
1 (reliable without restriction)
Rationale for reliability incl. deficiencies:
test procedure in accordance with generally accepted scientific standards and described in sufficient detail
Justification for type of information:
Experimental result using standard methods of analysis
Qualifier:
according to guideline
Guideline:
other: as mentioned below
Principles of method if other than guideline:
Solubility test in organic solvents was determined for Cinnamaldehyde; CAS No. 104-55-2. The substance is a Yellow Coloured Liquid. The test was conducted to determine the solubility range for which 0.1 gm of substance was dissolved in different solvents like acetone, acetonitrile, methanol, ethanol, toluene and Dimethylformamide (DMF). The solubility of the test substance in Acetone, acetonitrile, methanol, ethanol, toluene and DMF was found to be >1000mg/L at 31.2 °C.
GLP compliance:
no
Medium:
other: Acetone, acetonitrile, methanol, ethanol, toluene and DMF
Solubility:
> 1 000 mg/L
Temp.:
31.2 °C
Test substance stable:
not determined
Conclusions:
The solubility range of the test chemical in acetone, acetonitrile, methanol, ethanol, toluene and DMF was determined to be >1000mg/L at 31.2 °C.
Executive summary:

The solubility determination of test chemical in various organic solvents was done with acetone, acetonitrile, methanol, ethanol, toluene and Dimethylformamide (DMF). The test was conducted to determine the solubility range for which 0.1 ml of substance was dissolved in different solvents like acetone, acetonitrile, methanol, ethanol, toluene and Dimethylformamide (DMF). The solubility of the test chemical in various solvents was determined to be >1000 mg/L at 31.2 °C
