Description of key information

The above weight of evidence indicates that the bioaccumulation potential of Coco fatty acids 2-sulfoethyl ester, sodium salt in aquatic organisms is low. This is in line with the estimated BCF value of 58 calculated using the BCFBAF 3.0 submodule of Epiwin 4.1.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

BCF (aquatic species):

Additional information

In accordance with REACH Annex IX Column 2 adaptations, experimental determination of aquaticbioaccumulation is not required. Indeed:

o   The log Pow of Coco fatty acids 2-sulfoethyl ester, sodium salt is determined to be equivalent to -2.02. Based on this, a BCF of 58 was estimated using the BCFBAF 3.0 submodule of Epiwin 4.1.

o    Finally, the ready biodegradation and activated sludge simulation tests have shown Coco fatty acids 2-sulfoethyl ester, sodium salt to be readily biodegradable and to be almost completely removed from wastewater.
