Data platform availability banner - registered substances factsheets

Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Reference
Endpoint:
particle size distribution (granulometry)
Data waiving:
study scientifically not necessary / other information available
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because the substance is marketed or used in a non solid or granular form

Description of key information

Based on the physical state, the granulometry test is not possible. Granulometry is not relevant for the substance

Additional information

Docosan-1-ol is a waxy solid (paraffin-like) at standard temperature and pressure; therefore it is not relevant to conduct a granulometry study for this endpoint.

Discussion of trends in the Category of C6-24 linear and essentially-linear aliphatic alcohols:

Many of these substances are liquids. Where substances are solid at ambient temperature they are of a waxy/amorphous form rather than crystalline (though it is possible to obtain crystalline forms in the laboratory, from certain organic solvents). Granulometry is not a relevant endpoint in terms of the products supplied.
