Preliminary test

The auto-ignition temperature of the test material was estimated at 350 °C.

Definitive test

Ignition of the test substance was observed within 5 minutes of introduction with each sample volume and with each test a minimum auto-ignition temperature was obtained. The maximum deviation between the three values was < 20 °C. In accordance with the guideline, no further testing was required. The lowest temperature at which ignition of the test substance occurred was 328 °C. This was rounded to the nearest multiple of five giving an auto-ignition temperature of the test substance at 325 °C.
