Description of key information

In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex IX, the study does not need to be conducted as the chemical safety assessment according to Annex I indicates that this is not necessary.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

There are no long-term test data for fish. Testing is not considered necessary because:

  • Short-term toxicity to aquatic organisms is low.
  • Risk characterisation ratios based on PNECaquatic calculated using the short-term data are <1.
  • The parent acid substance is naturally occurring in aquatic organisms and so is the counter ion.

In accordance with Column 2 of REACH Annex IX, the requirement for long-term toxicity data for fish (required in Section 9.1.5) is waived on the grounds that the chemical safety assessment, conducted according to Annex I, indicates that it is not necessary.
