Additional information

No long-term fish study was available for the notified substance. Given the rapid conversion of the test substance to 6:2 FTOH, the latter is the more relevant substance to study. A longer term study in fish is available in 6:2 FTOH by virtue of the bioconcentration study, which was a 28-day study in carp. The 28-day carp BCF study is not technically a chronic toxicity study but no effects were seen after 28 days exposure to nominal 1 and 10 µg/L concentrations. This adds validity to the hypothesis that no effects would be expected in a longer chronic study, e.g., 35 day ELS study with fathead minnows.
