Description of key information

The information regarding the potssium hydrogen oxalate has been provided by read-across from oxalic acid. The algae Microcystis aeruginosa was exposed to oxalic acid during 8 d according to the cell multiplication inhibition test. A 8 d toxicity threshold of 80 mg/l was determined.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

In a similar experimental design a 8 d toxicity threshold (defined as the onset of cell multiplication inhibition in each case) of 80 mg/l was determined for the algae Microcystis aeruginosa and a 7 d toxicity threshold of 790 mg/l for the algae Scenedesmus quadricauda . The species with the lowest toxicity threshold of 80 mg/l was selected.
