Any other information on results incl. tables

The test item contains a residual moisture of < 0.1 weight % which was determined by drying the test item under vacuum. The pure product did not ignite at RT using a flame and a glowing coil as ignition source. The test item melted when the ignition source (flame or hot wire) was applied.

An an elevated temperature of 100°C, the same behaviour was observed.

Product blended with 20% Kieselguhr:

The pure product melted when a ignition source was applied. Therefore, the product was blended with 20% Kieselguhr and the test was repeated. The product with 20% Kieselguhr burned with a propagating flame when an ignition source (flame or glowing coil) was applied.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Interpretation of results:
non flammable
Remarks:
Migrated information
Conclusions:
The product neither has to be classified as highly flammable solid according to EC 440/2008, Annex V, Part A, A.10, nor as readily combustible solid
in class 4.1 according to the UN-Transport regulation and nor as flammable solid according to GHS.
Executive summary:

The study was performed according to EC 440/2008, Annex V, Part A, A.10 and UN-Transport Regulations (Class 4, Division 4.1) and GHS in year 2010.

The test item has a burning number of BZ 1 at room temperature and at an elevated temperature of 100°C. Applying an ignition source (flame or hot wire), the test item melted.

Blending the test item with 20% Kieselguhr, the test item has a burning number of BZ 5 at room temperature.

Therefore, the product neither has to be classified as highly flammable solid according to EC 440/2008, Annex V, Part A, A.10, nor as readily combustible solid in class 4.1 according to the UN-Transport regulation and nor as flammable solid according to GHS.
