Description of key information

The log pow of the xylene isomers ranges from 3.12 to 3.2. The log pow of m-xylene was reported as 3.2, for o-xylene as 3.12 and for p-xylene the log pow is 3.15. The mean value is 3.16.

Additional information

Hansch et al (1995) is a peer reviewed handbook and so can be considered reliable and suitable for use as the key study for this endpoint. The data are supported by the results from another review article (Leo et al 1971), which give partition coefficients for m-xylene, o-xylene and p-xylene of 3.2, 2.77 and 3.15, respectively.
