Description of key information

Based on the guideline study of the test subtance cetrimonium chloride,  the EC10 for P. putida was 1.6 mg/L, the EC50  3.2 was mg/L and the EC100 was 7.7 mg/L (nominal). This is equivalent to 0.40, 0.96 and 2.31 mg/L, respectively, based on active ingredient.

A study was conducted to determine the toxicity of C16 TMAC to the microorganism Pseudomonas putida according to guidelines. P. putida was exposed to the test substance at nominal concentrations of 0.24 - 31.3 mg/L (i.e. 0.07 - 9.14 mg a.i./L ) for 16 hours. A positive control, 2,4 dichlorophenol, was also included in the study.No analytical determination was performed for the test substance. Under the test conditions, the EC10 , EC50 and EC100 for P. putida were1.6 mg/L, 3.2 mg/L and 7.7 mg/L (nominal). This is equivalent to 0.40, 0.96 and 2.31 mg a.i./L, respectively (Stuhlfauth T, 1993).
