As direct and indirect exposure to the soil compartment is unlikely, a waiver is proposed for further terrestrial toxicity testing.

Additional information

Based on physical and chemical property parameters of DPnB, it can be concluded that the ultimate compartment is the aquatic compartment. The risk characterisation shows that the PEC/PNEC ratio for soil is clearly < 1. A study with DPnB in monocotyledons and dicotyledons is available which did show minimal toxicity when sprayed on wheat and corn leaves at concentrations of 25% or less. However, this study is only used as a supporting study as there are no published guidelines available for this assay and the study was not conducted under GLP.
