Description of key information

After evaporation or exposure to the air, the product will be slowly degraded by photochemical processes.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Based on the calculation according to AOPWIN v1.91, 3,7-Dimethyloctan-3-ol is indirectly photodegraded by reaction with hydroxyl radicals in the atmosphere with a half-life (t1/2) of about 27 hours at a rate constant of 0.0000000000142857 cm³/molecule-sec. For the calculation a 24 hour day and a mean OH radical concentration of 5.0E05 radicals per cm³ was taken into account.
