Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Description of key information

The vapour pressure of L-alanine is 2.83E-006 Pa (=0.00000283 Pa) at 25°C

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Vapour pressure:
0 Pa
at the temperature of:
25 °C

Additional information

The vapour pressure of L-Alanine was determined by (Q)SAR calculation by using EPIWIN 4.0 Suite, Version 4.0 as software tool.

This calculation method is commonly accepted for this endpoint and for substances with melting point > 200 °C, which is the case for L-alanine. The most reliable value refers to the Modified Grain Method as L-alanine is a solid. The calculated value of the vapor pressure is 2.83E-006 Pa (=0.00000283) Pa at 25°C.

The suitability of the model was assessed and it was concluded that L-alanine is considered to be inside the applicability domain of the EpiSuite MPBPVP model.
