Description of key information

Ceriodaphnia dubia: LC50(48h) = 0.255 mg Trinickel dicitrate/L

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

Different short term toxicity tests for various cladoceran species are available. The most sensitive species was Ceriodaphnia dubia, in an examination according to a national guideline (US-EPA) the LC50(48h) was 0.255 mg Trinickel dicitrate/L. Also other cladocerans (i.e. Daphnia longispina) showed EC50 values < 1 mg Trinickel dicitrate/L, but only the data for Ceriodaphnia dubia were shown in a study record.
