Description of key information

Ready biodegradability of the substance was determined according to OECD 301B.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Biodegradation in water:
readily biodegradable but failing 10-day window

Additional information

TGMDA was completely degraded after 60 days of incubation, while only 48 % were degraded after 28 days. This implies that some adaptation of the micro-organisms is required to fully degrade the substance in micro-organisms derived from municipal sewage treatment plant. The substance is considered to be inherently biodegradable.
