Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

There are no proprietary data on arsenic acid. Several sources of information provide data on physical and chemical properties of arsenic acid. Data are either originating from secondary sources with primary source not retrievable or from reference source with peer reviewed data. Where a key reliable value cannot be determined, a weight of evidence approach is used to determine a key value for the chemical safety assessment.

Arsenic acid (RN CAS 7774-39-4) is a weak acid that can exist either as a liquid form (solution) or a hygroscopic crystalline solid (arsenic acid hemihydrate). The boiling point of arsenic acid is 160°C which corresponds to loss of water. A key value of 18.45 hPa is determined for the vapour pressure of arsenic acid. In water, arsenic acid dissociates in water and exists as a mixture of arsenate ions.
