Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

General Information

Implementation:
EU
Remarks:
CLP Annex VI table 3.1 (ATP to CLP 790/2009 of 10 August 2009): 615-004-00-3 "salts of thiocyanic acid, with the exception of those specified elsewhere in this Annex". The full regulatory classification is provided, despite that some aspects of this classification are not supported by the available data presented in this dossier:
- "Aquatic Chronic Cat 3" classification cannot be correct in view of readily biodegradability of sodium thiocyanate, and lowest EC value from chronic data on all three trophic levels is > 1 mg/L
- “Acute toxicity Cat. 4” by dermal route is not supported in view of the dermal LD50 > 2000 mg/kg.
- No data could be located that supports “Acute toxicity Cat. 4” by inhalation.
Based on eye corrosion/irritation test results, the following addition is made to the harmonised classification: Eye Damage 1.
