Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Ecotoxicological information

Toxicity to soil macroorganisms except arthropods

Administrative data

Endpoint:
toxicity to soil macroorganisms except arthropods: long-term
Data waiving:
exposure considerations
Justification for data waiving:
the study does not need to be conducted because direct and indirect exposure of the soil compartment is unlikely
Justification for type of information:
The chemical safety assessment for Dimethylisopropylamine (DMIPA) demonstrates that 1) the exposure levels estimated in all relevant scenarios do not exceed the appropriate soil PNEC (calculated from aquatic toxicity data based on equilibrium partitioning), and 2) the likelihood and severity of an event occurring due to the physicochemical properties of the substance is negligible, according to Annex 1, Section 6.4, the criteria for adaptation are met. Specifically, all risk characterization ratios are under 1.0, and direct and indirect exposure to soil is unlikely as demonstrated by the attached exposure assessments. Therefore, toxicity testing on soil macro-organisms is not indicated.
