Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

The influence of dimethylisopropylamine (DMIPA) to Daphnia magna in a semi-static reproduction test has been investigated through OECD Guideline 211 and according to GLP requirements (study report, 2013). The reproduction test was conducted at nominal DMIPA concentrations of 0.05, 0.16, 0.5, 1.6 and 5 mg/L, plus an untreated control. Chemical analysis indicated that concentrations of DMIPA were maintained within the range 94 -108% of the initial measured values. The geometric mean measured concentrationswere below the limit of reliable quantification (LOQ = 0.0783 mg/L), 0.12, 0.46, 1.73 and 5.47 mg/L for the nominal test concentrations of 0.05, 0.16, 0.5, 1.6 and 5 mg/L, respectively. Therefore, results were expressed on geometric mean measured concentrations. Validity criteria were fulfilled. The 14 Day EC50of DMIPA for reproduction inD. magnawas estimated to be 5.44 mg/L (based on geometric mean measured concentrations). The 21 Day EC50for reproduction inD. magnacould not be calculated due to low levels of inhibition in neonate production, and therefore is concluded to be greater than the maximum tested concentration (>5.47 mg/L based on geometric mean measured concentrations). It is not valid to present EC5and EC10values as no concentrations tested had <10% inhibition in reproduction. The 21 Day no observed effect concentration (NOEC) for reproduction was determined as 1.73 mg/L. The NOEC for immobilisation of parentD. magnawas 5.47 mg/L.
