Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Applicant's summary and conclusion

Validity criteria fulfilled:
yes
Executive summary:

One valid experiment was performed using 5 concentrations ranging from 1.0 to 22 mg/L nominal concentration. Ten daphnia per concentration were exposed individually to the test item and the control for 21 days.

The offspring of the animals was counted three times a week. Decrease in reproduction was observed in the two highest treatments, ranging from 26 % to 98 %, compared to the control.The highest concentration showed also clear mortality (80 %).

The content of the test item in the test solutions was determined using GC/FID determination. The analysis of the test item concentrations in the treatments before and after exposition showed an acceptable stability of the test item during exposition. The geometric means of the measured concentrationsin the fresh prepared and the old solutionswere calculated. Their total mean was used for the evaluation of the biological results.

The test item was present in the solutions on day 2, but in very low concentrations, because of adsorption or ingestion onto the algae cells and daphnids. Therefore, one additional replicate per concentration without daphnids and algae were prepared for the analytical measurement. The geometric mean of day 0-2 was not used for evaluation of biological results.

The following results were determined for the test itemSynthetic Anethole 21/22:

NOEC = 1.05 mg/L
LOEC = 2.44 mg/L
E
C50= 2.81 mg/L
