Description of key information
Ethyl (S)-lactate is readily biodegradable. A hydrolysis study is therefore not required according to Annex VIII, point 9.2.2.1, column 2 of the REACH Regulation. The atmospheric half-life of Ethyl (S)-lactate in air has been estimated at 2.6 days for phototransformation (OH radical attack).
