Description of key information

The toxicity of the test substance to aquatic algae was investigated in a GLP guideline study according to OECD 201 (2011) with Desmodesmus subspicatus (BASF SE 2012). The substance had no observable inhibitory effect on algae growth up to its saturation limit in the test media and under test conditions.

The ErC50 value was determined to be > 1 mg/L (nominal).

Additional information

The toxicity of the test substance to aquatic algae was investigated in a GLP guideline study according to OECD 201 with Desmodesmus subspicatus (BASF SE 2012). Saturated solution was freshly prepared with dilution water. 1 mg/L was used which is a factor > 200 above the water solubility of 5 µg/L. No analytical evaluation of the saturated solution and the control was carried out. The test item is not soluble in water, methanol, acetonitrile, toluoene, 2-propanole, dichlormethane and tetrahydrofurane. For this reason, no analytical method could be established. The substance had no observable inhibitory effect on algae growth up to its saturation limit in the test media and under test conditions. The ErC50 of the reference substance was determined to be 0.54 mg/L after 72 h. The validity criteria were fulfilled. The ErC50 value was determined to be > 1 mg/L (nominal).
