Additional information

The key study for the determination of the toxicity to microorganisms has been performed according to guideline 87/302/EEC page 118-122 in compliance with GLP. In a static test with freshwater, activated, domestic sludge has been incubated with different concentration of the test substance (concentration of 1.0 mg/L to 100.3 mg/L) for 3 h. The respiration rate has been determined and an effect level >100 mg/l is estimated.

In a supporting study, the toxicity of the test substance to microorganisms has been tested in a respiration inhibition test according to guideline DIN 38412 Part 12 draft. The study is briefly reported and no further details on test conditions are available. The static study showed an effect concentration (EC50) of 70 mg/L of the nominal concentration based on the metabolic rate after 24 h of exposure. The EC10 level has been determined to be 27.2 mg/L after 24 h.
