Fluorphlogopite is practically insoluble in water (magnesium < 0.05 mg/L; aluminum < 0.05 mg/L, potassium < 0.26 mg/L). A study on the water solubility of Fluorphlogopite, where suspensions of the test item in water have been incubated at 30°C up to 72 hours, revealed concentrations of magnesium, aluminum and potassium below the limit of quantification or in the range of the blank value.
Moreover, the concentration of fluoride in a saturated Fluorphlogopite suspension was 0.3 mg/L, which is below the freshwater PNEC of fluoride of 0.4 mg/L (based on a PNEC of 0.9 mg/L for sodium fluoride). Therefore, Fluorphlogopite is considered not toxic for aquatic organisms and short-term and long-term studies on aquatic toxicity are considered scientifically unjustified.Information on Registered Substances comes from registration dossiers which have been assigned a registration number.
