Please be aware that this old REACH registration data factsheet is no longer maintained; it remains frozen as of 19th May 2023.

The new ECHA CHEM database has been released by ECHA, and it now contains all REACH registration data. There are more details on the transition of ECHA's published data to ECHA CHEM here.

Additional information

Information is available for the ready biodegradability, inherent biodegradability and adsorption coefficient of hexyl acetate. A QSAR was also conducted to estimate the bioconcentration factor (BCF).

In an OECD 301D test hexyl acetate was found to be 66% degraded within 28 days, and as such the substance is considered readily biodegradable. A further study on inherent biodegradability is available, conducted to OECD 302C. As the substance was 85% degraded within the 28 days, it is also considered to be inherently biodegradable.

The adsorption coefficient of hexyl acetate was determined in an OECD 121 HPLC test. The log Koc was determined to be 2.47 (Koc= 293).

A QSAR for bioconcentration carried out using the experimental log Kow estimated a log BCF of 1.844 (BCF=69.88 L/kg wet-wt) indicating a low potential for bioaccumulation.
