Resorcinol in air is not expected to undergo direct photolysis, but may undergo indirect photolysis through hydroxyl radical oxidation.  Resorcinol does not absorb sunlight at wavelengths above 296 nm to a significant extent (Perbet et al., 1979).  Indirect photolysis via hydroxyl radical oxidation was calculated via EPIWIN v3.12 which contains AOPWIN v 1.91.  Results indicate the overall OH rate constant to be 200.28 E-12 cm3/molecule-sec and a half-life of 0.053 days (38.16 minutes) for a 12-hour day with a hydroxyl radical concentration of 1.5´106OH - radicals/cm3  (US EPA, 2006, EPISUITE v3.12).
