In a skin sensitisation study (Hüls Prüfinstitut für Toxikologie, 1993d) conducted according to OECD 406 and to GLP, Dynasylan IBTMO (isobutyltrimethoxysilan) was not sensitising to the skin of Dunkin-Hartley guinea-pigs. There were no systemic effects reported.

Justification for selection of skin sensitisation endpoint:
The selected study is the only skin sensitisation study available for the registered substance. It was conducted in accordance with an appropriate OECD test guideline and in compliance with GLP.

Justification for classification or non-classification

Trimethoxy(2-methylpropyl)silane is not classified as a skin sensitiser according to Regulation (EC) No 1272/2008.
