The rate constant for the reaction of retinyl palmitate with hydroxyl radicals in the atmosphere was estimated by the SRC AOPWIN v1.92 program as 4.388 E-10 cm³/molecule*sec. From this rate constant a half-life for the reaction of OH radicals with retinyl palmitate is calculated as 55 min. Therefore, the test substance will be rapidly degraded by photochemical processes.
