A number of studies indicate the biodegradability of pyridine in water and soils, particularly under aerobic conditions. Specifically, pyridine has been shown to be readily biodegradable (Gerike and Fischer, 1979), although this test did not specifically show that pyridine biodegradation met the criterion for 70% DOC removal within the 10-day window.
