Experimental data on the short-term toxicity of propane-1,2,3-triyl 3,5,5-trimethylhexanoate (CAS 56554-53-1) to aquatic invertebrates are not available. According to Regulation (EC) No 1907/2006, column 2, 9.1.1. short-term toxicity testing with aquatic invertebrates does not need to be conducted if a long-term aquatic toxicity study on invertebrates is available. The chronic toxicity of the substance to Daphnia magna was tested in a study conducted according to OECD guideline 21.
The substance did not affect the survival rate or reproduction of D. magna (NOEC (21 d): 100% v/v (nominal)). Thus, the substance is considered as not toxic in the range of the water solubility.
