Description of key information

Dimethyldisulfide is expected to be hydrolytically stable at environmentally relevant pH and temperatures.

Key value for chemical safety assessment

Additional information

An hydrolysis study has been carried out according to OECD 111. The measured hydrolysis rate for DMDS indicates that the substance is hydrolytically stable, with less than 10% of degradation after 5 days at each pH 4, 7 and 9 solutions at 50°C.
