Applicant's summary and conclusion

Conclusions:
Substances showing a surface tension lower than 60 mN/m should be regarded as being surface-active.

It is evident from the information obtained in a hydrolysis test performed on the substance and data relating to the pH of the test material in water that negligible hydrolysis of the sample solution occurred during the course of the surface tension test.

The surface tension of a 0.970 g/L solution of test material has been determined to be 72.5 mN/m at 21.8 1 0.5°C. The test material is considered not to be a surface-active material.
Executive summary:

In a determination of general physico chemical properties study (0959/0234) the surface tension of a 0.970 g/L solution of the substance has been determined in accordance with EU Method A5 to be 72.5 mN/m at 21.8 1 0.5°C. The test material is considered not to be a surface-active material.

Substances showing a surface tension lower than 60 mN/m should be regarded as being surface-active.
